The Works Visual Arts Society and IDEA are presenting another edition of the THAW 2006 Contemporary Furniture Design Exhibit in Edmonton and have just put out a call for entries.
"The objective of this exhibit is to continue our exploration of the relationship between the designer and the end user with an attempt to provide awareness in sustainable designed products. This time we have introduced ourselves to the persona of Agnes Petterson, who is to be the inspiration behind all designs submitted. Attached you will find a light-hearted questionnaire that Agnes has filled out in order for you to acquaint yourself with her. Designs should be based on your interpretation of her personality and lifestyle. However, the intention is not to custom design to her lifestyle but more so to envision her as the consumer or end user. What would Agnes buy? Selection will be based on this interpretation, as well as product quality, originality, innovated use of material, and aesthetic appeal".
