Minitreehouse Series 2

Magic Pony has just made available the Minitreehouse Series 2 line.

"Mini Treehouse II, are the brand new mini figure series designed by Scary Girl creator Nathan Jurevicius. These are the MOST AMAZING AND WONDERFUL MINI FIGURES!!! Each of these characters is totally original and bizarre - just like the toy father himself! Not only is each character totally unique, they come with extra accessories to switch up their look".

Illusion

Designer John Brauer sent me this image of a table he debuted for essey at Top Drawer in London.

This table is absolutely insane and a perfect companion to his waste basket, bin bin that I posted an article for at Land+Living awhile back.

The table is constructed of 3mm acrylic and is 450mm high x 320mm diameter.

Dalek skate deck

I've been thinking about collecting skate decks for sometime now. No I can't ride worth a damn, but i'm allowed to just appreciate them while maintaining an unbroken neck.

First up looks to be this Dalek skate deck featuring Space Monkey that's available here.

1 - 2 - SNFU !

Out of a bored afternoon comes a pleasant surprise. I just happened upon this limited edition, colored vinyl album from SNFU's last release, In the meantime and inbetween time.

The bands been around the Canadian punk scene for over 20 years (how old am I ??) and was still able to put out some quality work near the end of their amazing run. The official SNFU website is still up, but i'm not sure if the band is still intact.

HANNSpree

Holly over at decor8 was nice enough to send me a link to this great line of LCD TV's from HANNSpree. My personal fave is the HANNSflora 12 inch LCD model.

I don't know what it is, but for some reason I never really see much of an evolution in TV designs. Sure we got the Plasma/LCD/HDTV, etc.etc. happening these days, but the actual TV itself seems to be moving at a snails pace.

Maybe it's just me ?

more miam.miam

Nice mug designs from Miam-Miam are available over at United Brands.

You just can't go wrong with a new mug.

even more miam-miam

OK, so it may look like i'm obsessing with Miam-Miam, but while browsing through United Brands I came accross this teaser under a section called 'restaurant'.

I don't know what they're planning..maybe restaurant related products ? Regardless i'm a sucker for teasers.

GIANT

Entertainment mag GIANT came out with a new revamped look a couple of issues ago. I wasn't too keen on the change at first, but started to appreciate the unique look that they were trying to achieve.

It's a great publication that doesn't lower itself with the token skin pics ala FHM or Maxim. The music reviews are especially great with their focus on more obscure, up and coming acts. Plus the occasional 'throwback' features are a hoot, especially the bit on 'Battle of the Network Stars'.

Good read.

Hazmapo

Unkl Brand and Kidrobot have teamed up to produce an exclusive edition of Hazmapos that are Limited to a run of 200.

Restauarnt Makeover

Speaking of cooking shows, right now Restaurant Makeover has to be tops for me. The combination of high end cooking, design and renovations is proving to be a great formula.

Normally I cringe at these quick-fix reno shows with their unrealistic time frames, but RM instantly brings back memories (good, not so good) of some hospitality jobs that i've been a part of. The clients are real, the money is real and the crap that the construction crew is put through is insane. Plus I always get a kick when the Chef gets told how his menu is complete shit. The deflated egos are worth it.

Definitely worth a view.

mmm...muffins !

I can't cook worth a damn, but for some reason I love cooking shows and I love the PC Flexible Bakeware Three-Piece Starter Set. Don't ask me why, maybe it's the colors, the ridiculously low price or the way it just "jiggles" in you hands. Plus they're able to be rolled up for easy storage.

Knowing me, i'll buy one and put it out on display.

Thursday

Toronto House

Karim Rashid is set to do an installation at this years Toronto Interior Design Show which starts on February the 23rd and runs till the 26th. But you can get a sneak peak now at some renderings over at his website

Clutter

Even if you're not into the vinyl culture, you have to appreciate the work being done at UK publication, Clutter magazine. Founded in 2004, it's been a great resource for what's happening in this rapidly growing scene.

"Clutter was founded in September 2004 as we felt there was a lack of information out there for the collectors of Designer Vinyl toys. As collectors ourselves we became increasingly frustrated with this information black hole. On graduating from University with degrees in Graphic Design we decided to do something about it. After speaking with collectors, designers and manufacturers we realised just how big the demand for information was… the response was truly amazing!!"

Octane 3 : Calender

Octane 3 has a great desk calender out now. The 2006 Charity Designer Desk Calendar : Edition 1 is full of great illustrations with 100% of of the profits going to their chosen charity, Sense.

Sony Wega

A few posts ago I went off as to how i'm not easily impressed with the lastest in gadgets and electronics. But I finally succumbed into temptation and purchased this badboy.

The Sony Grand Wega / rear projection LCD has a fantastic picture at a fraction the cost of a Plasma set, plus it uses less energy to boot.

It's all about the environment you know.

more Rhubarb

I just had to toss a couple of more images from Rhubarb. Thier stuff is pretty basic, but again you just have to see it in person to really appreciate it.
